REX CATHCART Of Fremont, entered into rest February 25, 2008 at the age of 73.

Loving husband of 43 years to Mary Ann Cathcart. Beloved father to Cleon Frank Cathcart and spouse Sherilyn of Bloomington, MN and Robin Lynn Mathews and spouse Jim of Concord. Dearest grandfather to Nicholas Tyler Cathcart, Jessica Nicole Cathcart both of Minnesota; and Brett James Mathews, Kelsey Ann Mathews, Michael James Mathews, Penni Lynn Mathews all of Concord. Adored brother to Cyril Cathcart of Lebanon, TN, Max Cathcart of Cadillac, MI, Glen Cathcart of Gallatin, TN, Gwen Cathcart of Kenner, LA, Nell Green and Peggy Gray, both of Nettleton, MS, and Bonnie Patterson of Phoenix, AZ.

Predeceased by sister Willodene Thorn of Plantersville, MS. Will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews; and great nieces Dena Waldo and Lisa Smith.

Rex was born October 25, 1934 in Nettleton, MS to Benjamin Franklin and Lulu Viola Cathcart. He was a resident of Fremont for 45 years. Rex was employed by General Motors for 30 years. He was an avid golfer and a fan of all sports; especially football. He coached for the Fremont Football League during the 80's. He was a wonderful grandfather whom enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday 11am-12pm with a chapel service at 12 at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Tri Cities Volunteers, 37350 Joseph St., Fremont, CA 94536.
