Obituary - Richard Douglas Sanders
COEBURN, Va. — Richard Douglas Sanders, 56, of Coeburn, Va., passed away 
	Wednesday (Dec. 3, 2008) at the Bristol Regional Medical Center Bristol, 
	Tenn.
	 
	He was a disabled coal miner, member of the UMWA and former employee of 
	Clinchfield Coal Company; a Veteran of the Vietnam Era served in the U.S. 
	Marines.
	 
	He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Sanders; and a 
	brother, Ronald Sanders.
	 
	Surviving are his mother, Thelma Sanders, of Coeburn, Va.; his wife, 
	Margaret Sanders; a son, Richard (R.J.) Sanders and his companion, Miranda 
	Kiser of Coeburn, Va.; a daughter, Jessica Winebarger and her husband, 
	Garnice (Buck) of Coeburn, Va.; four brothers, Ray Sanders and his wife, 
	Katie, Greg Sanders, Jeff Sanders, all of Coeburn, Va. and Terry Sanders and 
	his wife, Gaye of Nickelsville, Va.; three sisters, Brenda Noonchester and 
	her husband Dillard, Paula Jones and her husband, Elmer, all of Coeburn, 
	Va., and Linda Daniels and her husband, Ken of Hillsville, Va.; one 
	grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
	 
	The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sturgill 
	Funeral Home, 310 6th Street NW Coeburn, Va.
	 
	Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of the 
	funeral home, with Rev. Mitch Elliott and Rev. Leroy Mullins officiating.
	 
	Military graveside services will be conducted by the Local VFW Members at 11 
	a.m. Sunday at the Powers Cemetery Wise, Va. The family and friends will 
	meet at 10:20 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home to go in procession to the 
	cemetery.
