Obituary - Robert Glenn Andis
TERRE HAUTE — Robert G. Andis, 82, of Terre Haute, went to be with the
Lord June 24, 2012, in his residence. Bob was born June 23, 1930, in Vigo
County, to Lawrence Andis and Jessie Marie Andis. Bob was retired from
Public Service Indiana Wabash Generating Plant. Bob was a member and Deacon
at Mount Aetna Baptist Church, a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was
honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1954. He enjoyed carpentry and
will be remembered as a good and honest man.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and a wife, Ellen Payne Andis, who
passed away in 2008. He also was preceded by a great-granddaughter, Addyson
Breehl; brothers, Loyal Andis and Paul William “Bill” Andis; and sisters,
Autumn Salkeld and Norma Jean Rogers. Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara
Jean Taylor Nicoson Andis, whom he married Nov. 9, 2011.
He also is survived
by two daughters, Debra Hutchison and her husband Herb of Columbus, Ohio and
April Wolaver and her husband Lyle of Terre Haute; one son, Robert Andis and
his wife Tammy of Valrico, Florida; stepsons Fred Cottom and his wife Linda
of Terre Haute and Kenny Dean Nicoson and his wife Sherri also of Terre
Haute; two sisters, Jeanette Adams of Monticello, Indiana, and Bonnie
Freeman of Marion, Illinois; brother-in-law, Ronnie Payne; and
sisters-in-law, Peggy Payne, Billie Payne, Betty Andis, Lorri Lang and her
husband Ray of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, and Charlotte Shike of Terre
Haute; and an aunt, Fern Carter of Sullivan, Indiana. He also is survived by
grandchildren, Shelly Breehl and her husband Bill, Bradley Hutchison and his
wife Trish, Robbie Andis and his wife Jamie, Jeremy Andis, Glenn Sellers and
his wife Jennifer, Stephanie Robison and her husband Robert, Lucas Odom,
Jackson Wolaver, Shane Cottom and his wife Jennifer, Brooke White and her
husband Shawn and Kate Fry and her husband Aaron; stepgrandchildren, David
Nicoson and his wife Laura, Brian Nicoson, Katie Nicoson and Michael Nicoson
and his wife A.J.; 17 great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today, June 28, 2012, at Greiner Funeral Home,
2005, North 13th Street, Terre Haute. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until
service time today. Veterans of Foreign War Post 972 will conduct military
graveside services. The Rev. David Dragon will be officiating. Burial will
be held at Roselawn Memorial Park.
