RUBY OPAL WHITE ANDIS
Ruby Opal White Andis, age 99, went peacefully to be with the Lord Friday,
March 4, 2016, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 8, 1916, in the Smith Creek Section of Washington County,
Virginia, a daughter of the late Henry White and Maude Harley White. “Miss

her husband. She was a spirited, loving, generous lady with an abiding
patience and love for all, especially children. When called upon, even in
her early nineties, she would readily hop onto her four-wheeler to run
errands and was known to have attended Sunday morning services on her bike
with helmet intact. She was a member of Valley View Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband
of 51 years, Edgar Newton Andis, who died in 1983; her precious grandchild,
Terry Mark Andis; two brothers, Warren White and Malcolm White; and two
sisters, Maxie Carswell and Virginia McCroskey.
