	WALTER L. GROSE
	 
	Walter Leland Grose, 62, Oskaloosa, died Friday at his home.
	 
	He was born Jan. 24, 1919, at Almena, the son of John O. and Bessie Wendel 
	Grose. He was reared in the Almena community where he attended grade and 
	high schools. He later attended Kansas Wesleyan College at Salina. He lived 
	at Oskaloosa for 18 years and had lived at Kansas City two years before he 
	moved to Oskaloosa.
	 
	Mr. Grose worked for the Postal Service for 25 years. He retired in February
	1981 because of a heart problem. He also was a self-employed sign painter.
	 
	He was an Army veteran of World War II and member of the United Methodist 
	Church, Oskaloosa, Bicentennial Post No. 225 of the American Legion at 
	Ozawkie.
	 
	He married LuElla Peterson on Oct. 17, 1945, at Santa Monica, Calif. She 
	survives.
	 
	Other survivors include daughter, Mrs. Nancy Powell, Oskaloosa: a son, 
	Thomas L. Grose, Oskaloosa; his father John O. Grose, Wichita: three 
	sisters, Mrs. Ruby Sprayer, Norton, Mrs. Doris Watkins, Spring Hill, Fla., 
	and Mrs. Twila Montgomery, Wichita; a brother, Lester Grose, Littleton, 
	Colo.; and a granddaughter.
	 
	Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church. Burial was in 
	Pleasant View Cemetery, Oskaloosa.
	 
	Hampton-Barrett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa, was in charge of arrangements.
	 
	Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church or Rebekah 
	Lodge No. 747, both at Oskaloosa, in care of the funeral home
