Forks of Salmon Resident William P. O'Neill, age 63, passed away peacefully at his daughter's home in Concord on Tuesday, March 4, 2008. William was born September 11, 1944, a son of John and Olive O'Neill. He resided in Contra Costa County for 35 years before moving to Forks of Salmon, CA 15 years ago. William served his country proudly in the U.S. Army Green Beret's Special Forces Unit, where he was also a member of the HALO Team. His hobbies included gold dredging, fishing, and the outdoors. William was a courageous and generous man with an unwavering passion about many things, and a feisty sense of humor to go along with it. William will be deeply missed by his loving daughter and son in law, Carrie and Josh Fulcher; his beloved brother John H. O'Neill; beloved sister Margaret O'Neill; his former wife and lifelong friend Kathy McVey; and his constant companion, "Cody". A private family celebration of William's life is planned. Ouimet Bros.
