Miscellaneous Information

1) Parents of Mary Andis:  Jacob Shutters (born c. 1766 possibly Frederick, MD; died possibly Martin Co, IN) and Hannah Feylenger (born c. 1767 VA; died possibly Martin Co, IN).

2) Mary is the sister of Henry Shutters - found here and John W Shutters - found here.

3) We have a copy of the document where Jacob Shutters sold land to Mary Andis on 31 May 1839.  She paid $50.00 for the NW quarter of the NW quarter of Section 36, Twp 5N, Range 4N (40 acres) see Jacob's land patent document and the NE quarter of the NE quarter of Section 35, Twp 5N, Range 4W (40 acres) see Jacob's land patent document, all in Martin Co, IN. This Jacob Shuttersis likely her father.

4) We have an affidavit for a land warranty that is dated Sep 1, 1853 and a Military Warrant that is dated 01 Nov 1854..

5) Mary filed for a widow's pension under her husband's name. She received $8.00 per month, commencing 14 Feb 1871.  We have a copy of a document from the U S Pension Agency - dated 01 Jul 1883 - dropping her from the pension rolls effective 04 Sept 1880, because of her death.
