Miscellaneous Information |
1) We have a copy of the
recording
of William and Julia's marriage. 2) We have
various documents
regarding land transactions by Matthias Andis (Julia's grandfather) and
his heirs. They include purchase, sale and distribution of land in
Washington Co, VA. These are very important documents to our research, as
they conclusively tie Matthias, his children, and his grandchildren
together. 3) Julia is mentioned in
letters
that her son (Pleasant Henry Bowman) sent home to the family, while
serving in the Civil War.
4) Julia's deposition
was taken when she was attempting to acquire pension money after the death
of her son, Pleasant H, in the Civil War. 5) Julia is mentioned in her
husband William's last will and
testament. 6) On 30 April 1896, the land that originally
belonged to William and Julia was
partitioned
out to various family members. |
