Miscellaneous Information

1) According to the 1900 Federal census, Eleanor gave birth to 9 children - 7 of whom were living at the time.  According to the 1910 Federal census, Eleanor gave birth to 7 children - all of whom were alive in 1910.  Neither of the numbers coincide with the records shown above.

2) Husband (1) of Eleanor F Andis: Isaac B Maness - born 17 Dec 1835 Scott Co, VA; died 25 May 1862; buried Confederate Cemetery, Charlottesville, Charlottesville, VA; tombstone photo; son of H Maness and unknown (from marriage records)* We have information that Isaac's parents may be Hale Maness and Jane Bledsoe, but we have no documentation at this time. 

3) Eleanor's first husband, Isaac B Mainous/Maness, served in the Civil War.  He was in Company A of the 48th Virginia Infantry. He enlisted on 07 Mar 1862, and fought for the Confederacy (view 48th Regiment battles).  He was hospitalized 13 May 1862 at Charlottesville, VA, with chronic rheumatism. After having measles, he contracted and subsequently died of pneumonia on 25 May 1862 in Charlottesville, VA.  His occupation was a saddler and he received distinguished service status (view Isaac's military records).

5) We have a copy of the marriage record of Eleanor and Isaac. 

6) We have a copy of the marriage record and wedding notice of Eleanor and Williamson.

7) Eleanor is mentioned in a deposition that her brother, Harvey Thompson Andis, gave.  This was for the case of Lemanda Calvania (Wallace) Andis, regarding the pension of her husband, James W Andis (brother of Harvey and Eleanor).

8) We have a copy of a deposition that Lemanda Calvania (Wallace) Andis gave.  This was regarding the case for the pension of her husband, James W Andis (brother of Eleanor). Eleanor is mentioned in this deposition.
