Widow's Pension Records in the case of Isabelle (Webster) Sipes
(claim #306.442)

Why do they exist, and what information do they contain?

After Henry Sipes died, his widow, Isabelle, attempted to acquire pension money from the U.S. government.  The documents that were part of her pension file in the National Archives in Washington D.C. are listed below.

There is much valuable information contained within these documents.  Family names and important dates are given, but of equal value is information given by family and neighbors, and signatures of various family members.

Copies of each of the original documents are shown first, and, where words are difficult to read, full transcriptions follow.  For purposes of authenticity, we have transcribed all documents exactly as they are written - with all punctuation, spelling, and sentence structure the way they appear in the original text.

Click on each item below to view the individual documents.

In all cases, a copy of the original document is shown first, and, because some words are
difficult to read, full transcription follows for most documents.  For purposes of authenticity, we have transcribed the information  exactly as it is written - with all punctuation, spelling,
and sentence structure the way it appears in the original text.
